About

My name's Mikaela, and I used to be a horrible cook. (I.E. ghastly, horrendous) I mean one time I even thought a Peanut Thai Sauce was just peanut butter, and curry powder… I never live it down to this day. You may be wondering why I mention this, after all what does it have to do with this whole "About" Section anyway? Well it's got a lot to do with it.
I had made a blog about a year ago with the intention of cooking and Do-It-Yourself crafting notions. Clearly that blog failed because it's no longer around. Yet the one most insightful, and useful thing that I got out of that blog was my "Irish Cooking Month" segment in honor of St. Patrick's Day. I cooked my heart out for that month, and I will say that because of the rigorous amount of cooking (4 times a week with blog posts) I went from peanut butter with curry powder recipes to a sherry reduction sauce over a cornish hen. It also was the most popular month I had with my blog. Sheer focus, and direction.
Yet because it was so disorganized, with no true concept I ended up losing the motivation to follow through with my "DIY everything" mantra. (I mean who was I kidding?)

I quickly gave up on the blog because I decided it wasn't worth my time, or efforts. Now though with the grumblings of a few friends and family members for not continuing my blog, I knew I had to get back into it. (Your welcome!) But where to find my focus? Then it hit me right when I was sitting there making dinner and talking about a book I was reading to my fiancé. Cook and Books

I'm going to cook recipes inspired by the different books I read, and at the end everyone can benefit from those recipes and a book review.
I'm going to be reading a little of every genre now as I hope to branch out beyond my fantasy and science fiction love affair. Email me for suggested book readings (or anything else) and I'll make sure I put it on my list!
